Quinn's 8th B-day

Quinn's 8th Birthday!

Quinn lets Kieran know how much he loves him.

The ice cream cake had already started to melt, but it was delicious.

Quinn loves strawberries and watches intently as dad dishes them out.

One of Quinn's favorite gifts is this book about Flik.

Yay!!! Quinn turns 8 years old on Tuesday, but it was he who surprised us with an early birthday gift. He went potty on the toilet!!!

He's been standing up to pee for just over a year now, but we haven't been able to get him to take that next step. We've been having him sit on the toilet regularly to get more used to it, and they have been doing the same at his school. Tonight when I told him it was time to get ready for his bath and to go to bed, he told me he needed to poop. This is normally my queue to give him a pull-up, but I told him to go sit down on the potty and poop, and...he did it! Woo hoo!!! We called everyone into the bathroom to celebrate, because this is a HUGE milestone for Quinn developmentally. We are incredibly proud of our Quinn. :o)

Our Trip to the Dog Park

Last Saturday we took Bella and Sicily to Cosmo Dog Park. It's an awesome puppy haven with fenced runs, various water features, agility playgrounds, picnic ramadas, and even a big fenced-off beach. We were thrilled to discover that it's only a couple of miles from our home!

Cosmo Dog Park won "America's Best All-Around Dog Park 2007" from Dog Fancy Magazine and DogChannel.com.

Kieran & Charlotte take a break to watch all the pups play together.

There was a lot of agility training equipment throughout the park.

McKenna tried to get Sicily to go for a dip, but she wasn't interested.

Bella LOVES the water and we couldn't get her out! She was on tennis ball duty and definitely was a crowd favorite! (Watch some of the video below.)

McKenna's 13th Birthday!

McKenna's 13th birthday was last Friday. In keeping with tradition, the birthday kid gets to choose their favorite dinner for Dad to cook. Keeping with tradition, McKenna chose Steve's famous Mac n' Cheese with bacon and broccoli. Mmmm...
